How it works

It’s simple. We host lunchtime meals on Fridays and Sundays, in schools and community spaces. Meals are free to parents at participating schools, and are a great way to support families who are new to the area, need help learning english, or can’t afford our fresh ingredients. We think everyone should feel welcome in the places they call home.

Connect

You’ll join a table with 5-10 people. Some older, some younger, some born here, and some new to the neighbourhood, like refugees or people seeking sanctuary. You’ll have a table leader who will guide you through a set of simple recipe instructions for delicious dishes like flatbreads and curry.

Share stories

With each recipe step there’s a question to guide the conversation. Questions like; ‘What was your favourite meal as a child?’, or ‘What are you looking forward to next week?’ It goes something like: grate, chat, chop, talk, peel, listen (and it’s amazing).

Contribute

We want you to join us at the table! You’ll share a few hours of your time and we ask anyone who can to pay something to cover the costs (this helps us give free spaces at the table for people who can’t afford our delicious, fresh, healthy ingredients).
