How it works
Local Welcome makes it fun and easy for you and your friends to cook and eat a meal with people in your community who feel isolated, like refugees or older people who live alone.
At each meal, we pair three of you up with three refugees or older people. Together, you work through the recipe steps and then eat together.
2. Share stories
At the same time, you and everyone on the table answer questions like ‘What is your favourite meal?’ or ‘What are you looking forward to next week’ to help everyone get to know one another.
3. Do something great
The questions really help to get everyone talking and lead to all sorts of interesting conversations. By the end of the meal, you’ll be much better connected with the people you have eaten with.
Then next month it happens all over again!
