Support the Welcome

We need your support to grow to 10 groups and 100 supporters in our 10th year…

100 supporters

Across the UK, digital-fuelled isolation, political polarisation and community cutbacks mean that people are increasingly lacking ways to come together, build meaningful bonds and exercise their collective power.

Local Welcome meals bring people together through the magic of food. Our local groups of leaders and members get together monthly to make these meals happen. They show up, invite and organise, they peel, chop and grate, they listen and share, then they dry up and debrief. These meals cost money, and they can’t do it alone.

Eating together is important (it’s even one of our values). And we’re always looking to gather more people around the table. However, we know many people care about what we do, but just can’t make it to a meal. Perhaps they don’t have a local group (yet), or weekends don’t work for them, or they have other commitments.

Does this sound a bit like you? If you’re not able to be in the room where it happens, please Support the Welcome instead.

10 groups

We started our 10th year with 7 groups meeting monthly across the UK, and we’re proud to have reached our target of 10! With new groups now hosting meals in Leeds, Newham and Manchester, our network continues to grow. As we expand, we’re inviting more people to join our groups and help us strive towards our vision: diverse, resilient, and powerful communities, acting together for their common good.

Our groups are based in Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Derby, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Newham and Norwich. Could you support us in strengthening our groups and their impact?
